New reporting requirement for new and existing businesses!

Starting January 1, 2024, some business owners must adhere to new rules for reporting ownership details of privately held entities. This is known as Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Reporting under the 2021 Corporate Transparency Act (CTA). Non-compliance may lead to civil penalties of $500 per day (up to $10,000) or criminal penalties of up to 2 years in prison. This requirement does extend to single member LLC’s. Talk with our tax professionals or visit the US Treasury Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) website for more information.
